Now that the pet mitigation changes went live, you may want to read the comments that are being made to the 17 page pet mitigation thread.

You have proof of this? The pet changes were nowhere near ready to go and the dev team wanted to take their time on this AND get our input. Any change is most likely a bug and nothing should have been introduced with a zone release.

I read those threads and everything is anecdotal with some saying no change and some saying a change.

I really am starting to dislike these anecdotal comments because it does nothing but HURT us in the long run.

The only proof I have is what all of the mages in our guild have experienced moloing. The change has been drastic.

And you may want to read this thread.

Edit: In this thread players have posted that a pet change/nerf/or bug occurred on the 16th. The developers are avoiding answering the question directly:

How about this proof! I have been playing my mage for 14 years straight without ever taking a break, I know when a change happens like i'm breathing. So it is ok to apologize for trash taking us mages who posted about it. :D Read Roshen admitting to the stealth nerf in the quote below, see link at the bottom.

“I'd especially like to know what has already gone live and when/where we can test what hasn't? Some of these changes (decrease in earth pet max hit) already went live.”
The last update included some of the AC changes and an early version of the damage changes.

The damage numbers are not the final numbers but they will be broadly similar to what is sent to Test soon. AC numbers will be very different as the AA changes are not currently on live servers.

So apparently we have been lied to since we weren't able to test the changes implemented on 7/16/14. Elidroth indicated that ANY changes would be slow and steady. While also allowing us to test and provide feedback. This was not done and frankly is total smurf. On top of that, they have the smurf the worst community rep ever bring it to our attention instead of Elidroth or any other dev.

I haven't been following sony's forums lately, but reading them today, it's a real joke, wow people are really up in arms... The only parsing I see is someone parsing an earth pets mitigation Vs. a raid geared warriors... with the warrior using NO stances, NO defensive disciplines, NO activated abilities.

It's a complete joke. The fact that anyone at SOE thinks these sort of parses have any relevance shows how out of touch they are with their own game.

Do they even play it?

I didn't trash talk anyone. Simply, using only anecdotes leads to developers turning a deaf ear to the class and to the CRT's representing that class. Thanks for the links to the proof.

Also, these changes were an accident and not a stealth nerf: https://forums.station.sony.com/eq/inde ... st-3110061

Mainly this part: "Some of the pet changes that we had planned to go to the Test server did go live in the Argin-Hiz patch. These changes were not intended to be part of this patch, which is why they weren’t included in the patch notes....At this time, we feel like it would be less disruptive to leave them in game than to revert the changes and reinstate them in the upcoming August update."

So something did get snuck in but was not intended and soon they'll go back to normal.

And, while we are being snarky, note that I said, in my post, that it is likely a bug..and I was correct. Also, note that I didn't doubt that something was in but I did doubt it's intent.

Read Roshen's posts. He indicated the changes were an accident are being reverted and they ARE making good on their promise to test them. Aristo made a post, followed by a VERY detailed post by Roshen, about upcoming changes to all pets--including fire and forget pets by clerics!

Roshen laid out what the dev's saw before that guy even parsed that data. The devs are reacting to data they saw in pet AC values. Briefly, the AC values were far higher than they expected due to how AC was calculated for pets. They made a change just before CoTF launch but failed to correct all the issues--that is what is happening now. You can read that here.
