AA and me...

Post by Wam »

Hello!
I feel confused over all AA's!
I am level 81 and 72%
What aa's should i do first? i am doing a mission that give me 10aa every 6h so hoping to stack up some before i level to far..
i am at 670 aa's
I am solo mostly and boxing some with my Cle...

I know that i should do
1. pet defence (but what to pick first)
2. pet dps (but what to pick first)
3. my dps (but what to pick first)
4. my defence (but what to pick first)

I hope you can help me out!
I have locked around but cant find a site

This is more or less listed by level. With having 600+ aa I'm sure you have started to buy some of these. If i missed any, someones bound to throw it out there in another post.

Pet Defensive:
Elemental Agility
Elemental Durability
Companion's Durability
Companion's Agility
Sturdy Companion
Fortify Companion
Host in the Shell
Divine Companion Aura
Aegis of Kildrukaun

Pet Offensive
Companion's Alacrity
Companion's Fury
Elemental Alacrity
Elemental Fury
Frenzied Burnout
Extended Burnout
Virulent Talon

Personal DPS
Spell Casting Fury
Destructive Fury
Fury of Magic
Casting Subtley
Silent Casting
Twincast
Acanum Line
Heart of Flames - Level 1 only
Fire Core
Fundamental of Intellect: First Spire
Improved Twincast

Personal Defense
Companion of Necessity
Summon Companion
Drape of Shadows
Combat Agility/Stability

And by no means is this all that you should get but just a starting point.

In any AA you pick, they almost all have a greater benefit per AA spent in the lower levels of said ability. So, rather than buy all levels of one AA, buy the lower levels of multiple AAs. Then build up from there.

Personally, I go survivability first.
pet def's
spell sub
first few ranks of combat agility
companion of necessity
fortify companion
replenish companion
companions blessing
aegis
pet DA
drape
and a current max EM item

this will allow you to use your water pet as your tank, in turn increases dps, agro ability etc.

If your water pet has weapons, he can backstab from any direction. Of course he will do more dmg from the back due to rear attacks avoiding defensives of the mob. I'm Em 15 and I roll water pet for everything (I'm also fairly sure I used him at your level too, though I used mainly Air pet for stuns from 85-90ish when my EM item wasn't up to snuff). Not sure if the other mages do the same but I don't usually encounter any problems with him as a tank or aggro issues. Combined with the first few garg pets that will take some of the dmg in the start, iceflame guard, chaotic assistance line, surge of arcanum line, aegis, and your pets def aa's he wont fall short on living or agro. Thats to say if you have a merc/cleric bot. If the mercs on reactive you can also use your own little complete heal over 18 sec (i forget name). I also block the original complete heal spell mercs use on my pet (do they still?) so the mercs not wasting time on an archaic spell.

You should be able to find a list of EM items appropriate for your lvl in this forums search engine. But if I remember correctly you can get EM V-VIII in an augs (dyadic quartz) from the guy in the void with a bit of work on that progression or I think shards of the jungle *** is EM V and attunable at 80ish. You can also use Raidloot.com to help find different types of upgrades and its easy to use.

@Wam

Once you have that list completed I would look to level to at least 85 and continue working on AA. Important AAs unlock at that level and you can also start working on the innate INT aas Earthen Brillance. Going forward your important DPS are going to be locked behind levels. As far as pets go I usually stick with Earth and I'm using EM 14. I'm lazy at times so the earth works best when handling 2-3 mobs in VoA at a time. Also with leveling up to 85 you get the benefit of being able to buy Rustic gear from VoA which will bump up your mana/hp significantly as well as get you a proper fire focus.

Your personal dps should come before your pet offense. The order should be pet defense, personal dps, pet offense, personal defense.

For pets, it depends on what you are soloing. If you are soloing current content, then most definitely earth. If you are soloing lb/blues for your level, then you can use water for 1 on 1 confrontations. If you are being most efficient and soloing multiple lblues at once, then air is the best from my experience. That's what I do mostly when I solo; usually 3 or 4 lblue HoT mobs at once.
