i set up a new hotkey, with the help of the serverwide mages. thanks mages!

/alt activate 1215 (summon companion)
/alt activate 8341 (drape of shadows)
/pause 10
/alt activate 3812 (perfected invisibility)

You need to add in a /pet back off or a /pet stop. If you do not the pet will just re-engage the mob directly after the fade its making it so you have aggro again.

thanks, pie. i ended up going with /pet stop as the first line. it seems to be working as long as the summon companion part works.
