I am level 81 and meet the class/race requirements yet it would not let me equip it. I tried it on another toon who was also 81 and met the class/race requirements and he could not equip it either. What am I missing? Thanks in advance, I'm sure it's something simple that I have long since forgotten.

Yeah, it's a 2 hander so, my guess is you didn't remove your shield or whatever was in your secondary slot when trying to equip it.
