Is the Epic 2.5 worth equiping if you augged it with both the Sympathetic Alleviation augs allowing me to continue to use Bayles crest in my shield ? (Epics seems to be one of the few weapons with both type 8 and type 4)

Or Is dollsmasher + Sympathetic Alleviation aug & Shield + Sympathetic Alleviation aug a better option?

The return on a useful sympathetic aug is always better than a simple stat aug.

There are this many logical permutations of sympathetic effects:

4 sympathetic procs = 2.0 [2 augs] + Rokyl's Channelling Crystal [built-in + 0 augs] + Range [1 aug]
4 sympathetic procs = 2.0 [2 augs] + Shield [1 aug] + Range [1 aug]
4 sympathetic procs = 1HB [built-in + 1 aug] + Rokyl's Channelling Crystal [built-in + 0 augs] + Range [1 aug]
4 sympathetic procs = 1HB [built-in + 1 aug] + Shield [1 aug] + Range [1 aug]
4 sympathetic procs = 2HB [built-in + 2 augs] + Range [1 aug]

Every logical combination of sympathetic items and augs yields at most 4 sympathetic proc effects. You can mix and match however you see fit.

But there are only 2 Sympathetic Alleviation AUGS right? Or did i miss one?

Alleviation, yes. However there are several sympathetic DD augs which will provide you with a far greater return than a few more AC.
