VT is 20 minute recast, it does 675,000 damage (22500*30). If you look at it for sustained dps, say in a group it is 562.5 more DPS for only 12 AAs. Very large mana free increase for so few AAs. If you look at it for burned, someone tested under FBO all 30 procs hit in 60 seconds, which did 11,250 DPS and Vora is correct, 5625 dps over 2minutes. If you suspend pet you can keep that 11k DPS going for 2 minutes. Without FBO it takes roughly 90 seconds to proc all 30, for 7,500 DPS. I do not think the power of this AA can be understated. Maybe on par with Improved Twincast.Voragath wrote:VT can't be kept up indefinitely, it has a moderate recast time. Depending on what you are going to use it for matters on it's dps. If you are using it as a burn disc, then it'll be about 5k dps over 2m; if you are using it as a sustained bump, then obviously it's gonna drop more and be considerably lower.
Yes, it's a very sweet aa to cast on pet suspend, bring pet out later, let procs wear off then recast immediately.
I have no idea why the parser has a 1.5s recast except to think that's the failed recast timer (i.e. if you move you have to wait 1.5s to try again). It was either 10 or 20m to recast but my memory is a little fuzzy there.
My favorite is IVU and I even asked Eli if that was an error before I posted that as our ability. Chanters get it too. What makes it funny is that many used to ask for it and were basically told we'd get it when Hell freezes over.
December Patch

Re: December Patch
I parsed it 4 times and it never fully procced until after 70 or 80 seconds, and the longest it went w/o proccing every proc was around 114 seconds. With FBO your pet will sustain higher then 11k DPS with just self buffs on for the duration of the disc. That does not include bard sexiness, attack buffs, crit chance buffs ect. It should go up considerably higher when you add those variables in. Using it one time in a 2600 second parse it increased sustained DPS by about 350ish. It lasts for just over 17min and its recast is 20 minutes. I would love to get its recast lowered to around 15 or 12 minutes. If not it gives a lot of room to make increases in new ways for pets, and could possibly allow some stack ability for mages.
Another blow for this patch is that the new Flurry Chance added to FBO either is not working properly, or pets are hard-capped on Flurry. Eli is supposed to take a look at it to see what the dealio is. If it turns out pets are capped then I asked if we could get increases to the rest of the disc and just nix Flurry Chance from it. Either way, it will not be getting any type of change until next patch because he is in full bug-fixing mode.
So, yes compared to other classes we are getting hosed.

And that makes *2* mage AA's that are currently broken and having to wait... Whats the reason for beta again?
VT is nowhere near the amount of DPS mages needed to even not get laughed at on raids. They could 2x its DMG and we would still not be near what other classes are doing NOW every 10-20 mins. Yet mages are told its "balanced" for them to do 1/2 the DPS of other DPS classes ... and then only every 20+ minutes? What kind of fool can't see this?

Problem is it took Elidroth like a full month until he got caster AAs out. They got released I believe the Thursday AFTER VoA actually went live. Meanwhile everyother class but int casters had theirs on beta before VoA launched. So, that meant you had limited people to test these out and also limited time to actually ensure things were working properly. It was basically setup to fail, with how extremely late our AAs went in. Not to mention classes who got their AA in first were still getting stuff fixed while caster AAs were supposed to be getting looked at. It was and still is too big of a job for 1 person imho, and because of that some classes get screwed over.Savil wrote:And that makes *2* mage AA's that are currently broken and having to wait... As to the poisons, they really needed to have a way to be on permanently. Every class can have poisons on 24/7 if they buy the supplies and get them made. 20 minute recast for an ability that will last only 2minutes and is based on procs (not a DMG disc, if it was a DMG disc then it would be acceptable) is not a huge factor in the long run of things. But it is free DPS, and will be a boost to burst so I can't complain too much about it.

Re: December Patch
don't forget its a permanent loss of a spell gem
Re: December Patch
AA, not a spell. So it would be a permanent loss to a hotbar button at most, or if in a burnkey not even that.deadman1204 wrote:don't forget its a permanent loss of a spell gem
